Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Onyx Wallet ("Onyx", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Onyx mobile application (the "App"). Onyx is a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet for the HyperEVM network. Our goal is simple: we do not collect personal data about you.
This policy is aligned with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and App Privacy requirements, including the categories used in the App Store's Privacy nutrition labels.
1. Summary of App Privacy
Under Apple's App Privacy definitions, Onyx declares:
- Data Not Collected. The developer does not collect any data from this app.
Onyx has no user accounts, no sign-up flow, no advertising, and no analytics SDKs. We do not assign identifiers to you, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share personal data.
2. Information stored on your device
Onyx generates and stores the following on your device only. This information never leaves your device unless you choose to export it:
- Recovery phrases (mnemonics), private keys, and public wallet addresses you create or import.
- Wallet names, token lists, custom tokens you add, and preferences (theme, currency display).
- Address book entries you create manually.
- App settings such as lock preferences (Face ID / passcode).
Where available, keys are protected using the iOS Keychain and the Secure Enclave. You can enable an app lock, biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID), and require authentication to reveal your recovery phrase or private keys.
3. Network requests
To function as a wallet, Onyx must send certain requests over the internet. These requests contain only what is necessary to complete them and are not tied to a personal identifier controlled by Onyx:
- HyperEVM RPC endpoints. To read balances and broadcast transactions, the App queries public HyperEVM RPC nodes. Requests include your public wallet address and the transaction data you sign. Your private key is never transmitted.
- Market data. To display HYPE price, 24h change, market cap, volume, and the 7-day chart, the App fetches public market data from third-party market data providers. These requests do not include any wallet address or personal data.
These third-party providers may, as part of standard internet operation, log the IP address associated with a request. Onyx does not receive, store, or associate that information with you. You may route requests through a VPN if you prefer.
Third-party services
- Public HyperEVM RPC providers (for reading chain state and broadcasting transactions).
- Public cryptocurrency market data providers (for HYPE market information).
4. Face ID, Touch ID, and camera
Onyx may request access to Face ID / Touch ID and the camera. These permissions are used only on your device:
- Face ID / Touch ID: to unlock the app and to authenticate sensitive actions such as revealing your recovery phrase or signing transactions.
- Camera: to scan QR codes for wallet addresses. Camera frames are processed on-device and are not stored or transmitted.
5. What we do not do
- We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information.
- We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
- We do not sell or share personal information.
- We do not access your recovery phrase or private keys, and cannot recover them if lost.
6. Children's privacy
Onyx is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Your rights
Because Onyx does not collect personal data, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. You are in full control of your wallet data on your device and may remove it at any time by removing wallets in-app or uninstalling the App.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
